| Synopsis |
This presentation describes the Guardians project, which consists of a swarm of autonomous robots applied to navigate and search an urban ground. The project¿s central example is an industrial warehouse in smoke, as proposed by the Fire and Rescue Service (Syfire). Major difficulties range from low visibility to communications break downs, causing uncertainty about the way out and the positions of the crew. One major goal is the development of cooperation between and human and the robot swarm, with an adjustable level of autonomy in the swarm, i.e. balancing human control and autonomous robot capabilities. |
